***Updated later in the afternoon: Pamela pointed out that Joan and I are mentioned in Leah Garchik's column in the San Francisco Chronicle today, scroll down, kids, you'll find it. That's a nice cherry for us.***
The experience of being on the fringe was, well, frazzeling and exhilarating. We got through all six performances and those who saw the show, at least MOST of them, enjoyed the show. Joan is a stunning movement artist and it was wonderful to be onstage with her again. As for real life...it's been hard to keep up with everything. The laundry has piled up. Dishes have piled up. Issues have piled up. Blogreading has piled up to humongous levels (Holy Cats!). Knitting projects are waiting in the wings...
But knitting happened in odd moments, most assuredly. Calms the nerves - I know you know what I mean. So I have almost finished a sock, knit during the car trip from Berkeley to San Francisco and while we were waiting to load into the theater. My first attempt at a picot edge.
And knitting happened in very calculated moments onstage. Joan's idea, honestly. She wanted to take the things I do best and use them. So the mysterious robed figure knitting with red yarn and size 19 Lantern Moon needles is me.
Pamela says, " I thought it was the sexiest, male-energy style knitting that I had ever seen...Thrust, wrap, over, repeat." Knitting in the abstract. I think that qualifies as Extreme Knitting, don't you ?
I work with the nicest people. Richard brought me flowers after he attended the show Wednesday night.
And Christy brought me roses on Friday. Made my day. She's a doll, isn't she?
It hasn't been all Fringe all the time. I did get to Becca's Knitbloggers Picnic on Saturday and I have some nice photographic evidence. I'll have to wait a day or two to post about it, though. A gal's gotta work, you know.
The best part of the past three weeks is that my pal's been here for a nice long visit. It's been a thrill to work with her again.
When she leaves on Wednesday, I'm gonna miss her. In the extreme.
