    All I have time for

My sister just sent me this link. It really brightened my day and I hope it brightens yours.

Plus, the Girlie and Rachael both sent me this link . How about that? Amazing!

    Make Way For Ducklings!

Late Monday afternoon, we discovered six mallard ducklings stranded in the courtyard at work. Duck1

That would be the Second Floor courtyard, which is enclosed on all four sides with no outlet to the street.

    Courtyard

We found the nest in the bushes, with one egg that didn't hatch and a hatchling that didn't make it.

Someone spotted the mama duck in the courtyard early yesterday morning. So we knew she could fly in and out, but she had no way of getting the ducklings out and to the water without human intervention. I consulted the Lindsay Wildlife Museum for tips on what to do.  Then we shooed the ducklings out through the cubicles and into a box...

...and released them into "the wild" at the ground floor.

    Duck3

It didn't take long before their "peep, peep, peeps" attracted some "quack, quack, quacks!" Once they heard mama's voice, nothing...

    Duck4

    would stop them...

    Duck5

    from getting to her.

    Duck6

She led them right to the water.

    Duck8

To our delight, they jumped right in!

And then mama led them away.

    Our teamwork paid off!

    All Good Things Must End

I did a very good job of avoiding work-thought and work-anxiety throughout the three-day Pajama Daze weekend. But real life had me up and moving early this morning. I'm off and running as fast as I can to catch up and Get Things Done today. My attitude is much improved.

    Wish me luck!

    Pajama Daze

    Pjs_2

I'm in the middle of my Midsummer Pajama Daze. Put the orange pajamas on on Thursday night, still have them on this afternoon. I'm thinking of taking a bath and changing into clean pajamas later this evening and likely to make it a three-day pajama weekend.

This is exactly what I needed.

    Day One:
I watched a buncha movies, did the dishes, ate a few times, and knitted an eight inch afghan square with intarsia. And then I slept. Really well.

    Day Two:
Made breakfast for Mr. Celia and myself and then picked a bountiful harvest from the garden.
    Harvest

The blackberries are ripening early this year. But, don't worry, there are plenty more.
    More

    and there are ROSES
    Roses

And there's dinner to make and LOTS more movies to watch. And nowhere to go.

And I'm barely talking to anyone. Just Mr. Celia. And only when it's absolutely necessary.

Did I tell you that this is EXACTLY what I needed?

    Way Too Busy

It's the end of one desperate fiscal year at work and the beginning of a very somber one. There is way too much to do and not nearly enough people to do it. I'm just trying to keep up. I think I'll leave it at that.

Looking forward to staying at home all weekend. Maybe I'll be able to knit (not enough of that lately).
I signed up for a Ravelry Help Session and a Project Finishing Workshop at knit-one-one for next weekend, so I better take my down time while I can!
