The fire department made remarkably little noise. I could tell something was going on but wasn't sure where. What got me up was the sound of the chainsaw. Wow, that sounded close!
Everybody got out safely, they've got beds to sleep in - as if they could sleep. Neighbors have supplied warm jackets and socks and the whole family is huddled together on the front porch across the street, watching the firefighters do their work.
Devastating.
