Lately, lot of knitting time has been spent in archaeological excavation of the yarn closet, which involves disgorging the contents all over the knitting room.
And de-tangling one unfinished project from another,
and another...
But now, as you can see below, I'm making progress. Charley is my main man now. I'm marching up the front and then will move on to the sleeves.
But, excavations being what they will, treasures are inevitably found. I could not resist the sireeeeen call of this yarn. (It came home with me last November - from Puppy Yarn in Shanghai.)
And I cast on for a feather and fan scarf.
But it's not the siren call of the yarn that's entirely to blame. Please note the lovely wooden needles I'm using - a gift from the lovely Pamela Purl. They have nice sharp points.
But it is the other end that is of the most interest.
Yup, frogs. On the end of my knitting needles! Hence, I could not wait to cast on. Blame Pamela.
I told you before that I finished these, but here's the photographic evidence.
And soon I will have a pair of my own, too, knit from the leftovers while riding BART. Sock three is done. This is sock four.
Kicking Asthma
I have reached my fundraising goal (already!) in the Asthma Walk. So, since the event is a month away and there's plenty of time to raise more funds, I've increased the goal and added an incentive. If you contribute to the asthma walk (no amount is too small), I'll enter your name in a blind drawing to win a pair of hand-knitted socks, tailored to your color/pattern preferences. Just head over to the side bar for the link to my fundraising page. To those who have contributed so far, many thanks! (Laura Ambrose? where did you come from? email me) Your names will be included in the drawing. After the walk, I'll pick one name at random and knit like the wind...
Finally
A gal cannot live by knitting alone. So last evening I baked a lovely loaf of crusty gluten-free, dairy-free bread.
It toasted up beautifully this morning.
And, with a little goat butter and cherry jam, made a delicious breakfast.
