Meryl and Anna celebrated their birthdays in February. Pamela and I got around to commemorating that celebration by taking them out to Baywolf tonight. You may remember that collectively we are CAMP (Celia, Anna, Meryl, Pamela) and we have been friends since at least 1978, which is the year I got married.
I took along the Flower Basket Shawl, which will be posted to Auntie Joan tomorrow. I just couldn't help it. I needed them to look at it and ooo and ahhhh, which they did most admirably. I also showed off the Lucy Bag, which I must say is my favorite felted bag to date. I just love this bag. It's the right size, for one, and it's a good color and shape. I'll admit, I just knitted it because Michelle was going to and I made mine orange 'cause hers was. And, please go and tell her that Mike's wrong. The bag doesn't look like Tigger and she will be SO SO glad when she finishes it. Honestly, this is one great pattern and a lovely bag.
Testimony: This afternoon, I was on my way to the library to do a little research. I was wearing the gratuitous orange outfit and had Lucy on my shoulder. Two women came out of a restaurant across the street from the library and said, "That's a fabulous outfit you're wearing!" and then immediately, another woman said, "That's a great bag. Is it felted?" Stoked, I was. Very. Just what I needed this afternoon. It's fun to look fabulous.
And it's fun, really fun, to spend time with good friends. I will never get tired of them.
