Wii Can't Wait!

I am sure the above title has already been used by numerous blogs and/or magazines.

Wii

OH MY GOD. I am so excited. I got home from class, ate my breakfast and just kind of moped around for a while and then I realized. IT IS SEPTEMBER 14TH. The day that Nintendo promised to announce launch details for its new system, the highly anticipated (not just by me) Wii. Stupid name aside, I am really looking forward to this console. It is going to blow everyone away, probably. I am a little disappointed that Nintendo is not offering their new Smash Bros. as a launch title, but the fact that they are bundling the Wii with a copy of Wii Sports mostly makes up for it. I was already thinking about picking up Wii Sports anyway, and now I can spend my money on Elebits or WarioWare. Or Excite Truck? Also, listen up Mom: Nintendo has announced a Wii version of Big Brain Academy to keep your brainage on its toes!

My excitement did get off to a kind of stilted start. I began my search for Wii information by checking my gmail inbox (I know, I know. Sooo hardcore and underground of me). I was not surprised by an email from Club Nintendo (of Japan). I was surprised, however, by the release date detailed in the email. December 2nd. You people must be joking? I was expecting A mid-October launch. But I quickly fact-checked on Nintendo of America's website, only to find that December 2nd is the Japanese launch date. Haha, suckers. The American launch date is

                            November 19th

Remember this date. It is the day the world is going to change. Now I am off to go pick up a copy of Cooking Mama for the DS. Finally.

Snakes on ... my iPod?

And now, there is a song. (A real one). Also check out Samuel L. Jackson's shirt around 2:15 of the video. Go JRo!

Snakes on a Google Video

God bless you, Google Video, for renewing my enthusiam for the over-hyped Snakes on a Plane. I am once again excited to go see it when it finally fucking comes the hell out.

And also, curse you, Google Video, for giving me another excuse to procrastinate. This paper is due tomorrow, come on!

...Hyde?... HYDE!

So I was on the Fillmore website, trying unsuccessfully to buy myself some tickets to see Gnarls Barkley (best name EVER!). Things were not working out and I decided to check out what other upcoming shows were happening. As I scroll down the list... wait... does that say "Hyde"? Well, obviously it can't be the Hyde, lead singer of L'Arc~en~Ciel, a J-Rock group I was crazy for in high school. Besides, he usually spells his name with a lower case "h". So I click on the link, prepared to find a picture of some hillbilly or something on the next page...

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I choke on my own spit. That is the unmistakable half-growly/half-pouty face of Hyde. Yes, the Hyde. And I have tickets!!! To see him!!! I think my 15-year-old self just fainted somewhere in the past from the power of the awesomeness.

The show might suck hard (the T.M. Revolution concert I went to in Anaheim was incredibly disappointing), and he might sell out and decide to sing only in English. But fuck you, it is still Hyde, and I am going to see him.

Food Blogging and Demon Dogs

I have been avoiding posting again because: a) I was busy. Like, up to my armpits in Happenings busy, and b) I knew that a new post would bump off my one about Zombies, which I think was an entertaining as well as informative entry.

But then I realized I could link it here, like this. And now all my problems are solved. A least the ones relating to Zombie blog posts.

Here are some Donut Muffins I made a few weeks ago and I am just now posting about:
Muffins

Certain people like to only eat the top off of things I make and these muffins were no exception. The recipe came from my Brunch cookbook, by Jennifer Donovan, that I got on sale for cheap. I can't find it on Amazon or anything, but it is mentioned in this other food blog.

I have been meaning to turn this into a food blog of sorts for a while, but I keep forgetting to take pictures of things I have made before I eat them. Or before my mother's demon miniature dachshund eats them. Grr...

In related news, I think that Lost's "Henry Gale" looks a lot like my mom's dog. See below for comparison.

Actor Michael Emerson as "Henry Gale" in an episode of ABC's Lost:
Henry_gale

And Schatzi:

Notice similar white face grizzle and bewildered look on both. The resemblance is more striking in person.

Now look in amazement as each sport comparable defiant facial expressions:

Also, Schatzi is devious and cannot be trusted JUST LIKE HENRY GALE.

I am freaking out, you guys. They are like twins.

Birthday Escapades

Here is a summary of what happened tonight, on my 24th of birthdays.

We met at my parents house to get ourselves coordinated and sexiness ensued:
Laydeez

With hilarious results:

We all piled into Nightrider, our official chauffeured vehicle for the night, and we were off to the restaurant:

I forgot to take a single picture of oysters because we were all too busy taking pictures of Antics.

Julie revealed a secret part of her life as a 1920's gangster:

Laura and I are actually heiresses, constantly pursued by the paparazzi. Tonight we were okay with it, though.
Heiress

My dad is also a gumshoe:

All in all a good time was had.

When we finally got back, my friends and I had to take a family picture. Because it's what you do.

Whyy?

Alright people. It is time to pull ourselves together. I thought that if enough of us ignored the problem, it would go away. But you guys aren't even doing that, you are just giving in to the temptation:

No

But! I am not the only one who feels this way. You guys, I'm seriously. We have to stand up for all that is right and good in this world. Nintendo, I still love you. I think we can work things out. But you need a reality check. Wii are not amused.

Going Back to NY Already??? (SHAM)

Yes, well. What can I say? When you are offered a position doing EXACTLY what you want to do, are you supposed to say "No, that's cool. I will stay here and try to get a job in retail." I am going back to New York City, probably around June 3rd, to teach Japanese (three seperate classes!) at Townsend Harris High School in Flushing! At least it is only for a week. Otherwise I might get trapped in NY forever, boo!

Please also check out Dominica's E3 blog for the latest new in video games!

Update (6/2/06):

Idealistic Pirate says...

Tiny_ideal

I am going to stay here and work at EB for a while, because the New York plans did not turn out as hoped. So actually, that's cool, I will stay here and get a job in retail. Oh, well. Boo New York, anyway.
